Oakwood Theme Park is a theme park in Pembrokeshire, Wales which attracts over 400,000 visitors each year.
Oakwood opened in the late 1980s as a very small family park with BMXs, a wooden fort, a 3D-style cinema experience show, go-karts and a water chute ride.
The park has in recent years acquired a reputation for innovation and now incorporates five large thrill rides: Megafobia (1996), Vertigo (1997), Bounce (1999), Drenched (2002, as Hydro) and Speed (2006).
In 2006 Oakwood opened its latest ride to the public: Speed, a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter roller coaster with a 97-degree drop.
This was the first Euro-Fighter in the UK and was at that time the steepest roller coaster in the United Kingdom, only being overtaken by the opening of Thorpe Park’s Euro-Fighter Saw: The Ride in 2009 and Mumbo Jumbo (rollercoaster) at Flamingo Land Resort in the summer of 2009.
The 85-foot-tall (26 m) CCI-built wooden roller coaster “Megafobia” has been rated among the best in Europe by enthusiasts.

Christina Aguilera’s tattoos honor the people in her life that are most important to her and remind her of how far she’s come in the entertainment industry. Aguilera has at least five tattoos, each with a special meaning or memory.
Similar to other starlets that have tattoos, such as Rihanna’s tattoos or Angelina Jolie’s tattoos, Aguilera has tattoos in another language.
Two, one on her arm and the other on her lower back, are in Hebrew and discuss love as does one in Spanish that pays tribute to her former husband Jordan Bratman.
In addition to a flower tattoo on her wrist, Aguilera reportedly has a tattoo of Mickey Mouse on her hip.
Though photographic evidence of that tattoo is hard to find, it reportedly reminds Aguilera of how she got her start in the business, as a member of the “Mickey Mouse Club.”
Aguilera came from humble beginnings with her early career including singing the national anthem at sporting events and an appearance on “Star Search” which led to her spot on the Disney series.
Just like fellow stars Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears, Aguilera burst onto the pop music scene in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
In the years since, she’s become an accomplished singer, songwriter, producer, actress and dancer, not to mention sex symbol.
Now, Aguilera is the divorced mom of a son but still remains active in the industry as a judge on the reality show “The Voice.”
Like other celebrities with tattoos, Aguilera’s tattoos tell a story of where’s she’s been, what she’s accomplished and how far she’s come from that little girl from Staten Island to an award-winning international pop star.
Since it is Wednesday it is time for another celebrity tattoo post. I will be honest I knew that Christina had two tattoos but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she has a total of five.
This just goes to show that you can have tattoos and people not know about it. Also I think Christina tries really hard to cover her tats up. It’s been reported that she buys special make up to cover up her tattoos because Hollywood still sees tattoos as a no no if you have too many.
The Milky Way Adventure Park (located close to Bideford) equals extraterrestrial amounts of fun for the whole family.
There are exciting roller coasters, suitable for kids and adults: the Cosmic Typhoon banks, twists and turns its way around the track and offers a spectacular view of the North Devon coastline.
Seekers who are too little to ride, there is also the Big Apple coaster: it is a little easier on the stomach. There’s a galactic adventure in the Clone Zone: you have to fight off aliens as you ride the suspended roller coaster which flies you back to earth.
Of course there’s your trusted dodgems track and a classic loc: relax and do a little sightseeing on the Milky Way Railway.
If skies aren’t clear when you visit, there’s hours more fun indoors. Adults will enjoy the big slides (including one with a 20-foot drop in Time Warp) just as much as kids!
For the less brave there’s a slide which drops into a ball pool. Additionally, there are two play areas specifically for toddlers.
Toddler Town sits right next to Time Warp, so you can take a breather and keep an eye on both the bigger and the smaller kids. For more information, visit the website of Milky Way Theme Park.
The Milky Way, a family-based theme park attraction near Clovelly in north Devon, England. It was built and operated by enthusiast volunteers working to revive the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway–a nearby historical line running through Exmoor.
Built to the same rail gauge – 1 ft 11 1⁄2 in (597 mm) – as the L&B, but with a considerably smaller loading gauge, the ride made significant contributions to the finances, skills and expertise of the L&B and was substantially extended and improved during 2003/2004.
So they could concentrate on operating at Woody Bay the L&B sold their share in the Lynbarn operation to the owners of the Milky Way, who now operate the ride along with the other attractions.
The “Lynbarn” uses three coaches that were part of a lot bought by the L&B and formerly based at Thorpe Park in Surrey. Four other coaches have been fully rebuilt, and are now carrying passengers at Woody Bay. There are also a number of service wagons, used for maintaining the track.
Motive power was provided by two steam outline diesel locomotives. One of these, Parracombe, was built by Baguley in 1947 for the line at Butlins, Clacton. A scene from that period featured in the closing sequences of a popular TV series Hi-de-Hi! (1979-1987). This loco was transferred to the Groudle Glen Railway in 2007.
