Miley’s chest tattoo reads “Just Breathe” and is reportedly an homage to a sick friend. Miley debuted the tattoo in December of 2009, right after her 17th birthday.
Miley Cyrus slipped into a hot pink bikini and planted herself right in the sun in Miami today — is that a new tattoo we spot? She talked about getting some ink with her brother, and it looks like she might have gone with getting “just breathe” written in cursive.
She laid out by the pool and chatted with her friend who took a dip. Miley’s still a teenager, but she’s already asserting herself among the most bikini-loving ladies in Hollywood.
Miley spent most of her 2009 on stage performing her hits and now the newly-17-year-old star has some downtime before heading to the UK for a series of shows this month. In the new year she’ll be out to promote her big screen venture, The Last Song — ICYMI, check Miley out in the trailer.
Miley Cyrus and a couple of female friends are spotted leaving Barra da Tijuca beach in Rio after relaxing in the sunshine.
Cyrus was seen wearing a two piece silver bikini before putting on cut off jean shorts and a Willie Nelson t-shirt.
Miley Cyrus has 16 tattoos. Her most recent tattoo is of a Theodore Roosevelt quote on her left forearm. The pop singer and former Hannah Montana star also has “Just Breathe” on her chest, “Love” in her ear, a dreamcatcher on her side, an anchor on her right wrist, an ohm symbol of her left wrist, a skull on her ankle, “Love Never Dies” on her arm, and Roman numerals in her elbow.
On her right hand she has 7 tiny tattoos on her fingers: an equal sign, a peace symbol, a cross, a heart, the word “karma,” an evil eye, and “Bad” from the Michael Jackson album.
In February 2011 Miley had a dreamcatcher tattooed on her right side. This is her largest tattoo to date. A friend told People Magazine:
“It’s a picture of the dream catcher that hangs over her bed with four feathers to represent her four brothers and sisters. The dream catcher is to protect them.”
Dreamcatchers are used in many Native American cultures to protect a person while sleeping. The are hung over the bed and are thought to catch bad dreams and only let good dreams through.
The Cyrus family is part Cherokee and all seem to be inspired by Native American imagery.
Miley’s brother Trace has a dreamcatcher on his neck as well as portraits of Geronimo on his hand and back. Father Billy Ray Cyrus has Geronimo and Chief Joseph on his arms.
