Europe Best Beach Vacations

There are many things you could look for in a holiday; adventure, sports, culture, architecture or maybe great shopping. Sometimes however the best thing about going on holiday is swapping the grey pavements and cloudy skies for a stunningly beautiful beach, the kind with turquoise sea, azure skies and soft white sand underfoot. If that`s the most important aspect of your holiday (and why wouldn`t it be?) then take a look at some of Europe’s best beaches before you choose this year`s holiday destination. All around the coastline of Europe there are plenty of outstanding beaches to choose from.

Let`s start with San Vito Lo Capo in Sicily, Italy. San Vito Lo Capo can be found on the northwest coast of Sicily and this small town is blessed with some of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see and to top it all off they are surrounded by some stunning mountain landscapes. This is what Sicilian dreams are made of. The town has not been too commercialised so retains its authentic feel and the opportunity to relax away from more crowded places. If you explore the area you will undoubtedly find some little used coves and deserted beaches for a true desert island feel.

Oludeniz is a small resort on the Turkish Riviera, along the south west coast overlooking the Aegean Sea. This place is one of the most photographed beaches on the Mediterranean and regularly polls as one of the top five beaches in the world and it is not hard to see why. It is a scrupulously clean Blue Flag beach with a blue lagoon and sandy bay. The water promises those much sought after sparkling shades of turquoise and aquamarine and it is a great place to go paragliding because of the spectacular views on offer.

Another top beach in Europe can be found in Biarritz in France. Biarritz is located in the south of France and is part of the Basque region. It will not be as crowded as the French Riviera and it is a luxurious destination, perfect for surfing and soaking up the sun in beautiful surroundings. This part of France is renowned for its surfing and its annual competitions such as the Quicksilver/ Roxy Jam surfing tournament. It is also a popular gambling location, with two casinos located along the beach front.

Spain of course is always a popular tourist destination and there are always Low Cost Holidays voucher codes to be found for Spain. Next time you are going to Spain, give the most popular Balearic Islands like Ibiza and Majorca a miss and try the often overlooked Menorca because it is here you will find Cala de Algaiarens. This underused area contains two gorgeous beaches with golden sands and crystal clear water. As they are located on private land there is a small charge (about 4 Euro) to access them but this is more than worth it. These beaches are in an area of natural interest and surrounded by pine trees, rugged cliffs and rock formations.
