Tommy Lee, Mötley Crüe drummer and Methods of Mayhem founder, has “Mayhem” inked across his abs.
What the pro says: “It’s surrounded by some pretty lame tattoos. But you have to admit that ‘Mayhem’ is pretty epic.” — Dave, One Shot Tattoo.
Tommy Lee owes much of his popularity to his wives and female partners in general. As everyone already knows, he has been Pamela Anderson’s husband for a few years.
Pam is not the only reason of his popularity, but probably the most relevant one.
His marriage with the Baywatch sexy Star (the most successful playboy cover-girl ever) got unintentional advertisement through a worldwide known pornographic home video realized by the couple during their honeymoon and then stolen from their house and sold all over the world.
They officially broke up a few times before divorcing in 1998.
Just for the record, Tommy Lee is also a musician, drummer and founding member of heavy metal band Mötley Crüe and rap-metal band Methods of Mayhem.
People started talking about Tommy Lee Tattoos in 1996 as he attacked a Jewish photographer and revealed a shocking swastika tattoo on his arm.
That tattoo has since been removed or covered from many others and nobody talks about it anymore. Lee’s lawyer stated that the swastika was nothing more than a stupid tattoo of a rock star, it never was a reflection of Lee’s views.
Tommy Lee has got the name of their two children, Brandon and Dylan, tattooed on his wrists. He had both his boys write their names out, brought those signatures to his tattooist and got them inked.
Some more Tommy Lee’s tattoos: a huge Mayhem tattoo inscription is well visible on his stomach, an ex-girlfriend’s lips are tattooed on his neck, two tattoo stars on his hands and he has a huge tribal design covering his whole back.
But there is much more: a Dragon Head tattoo on his right biceps, a little white daisy tattoo on his left shoulder, a big cat, I think a cheetah, tattooed on his right arm, two huge tribal lion heads on his breast.
As a signal that he had moved on in 2003, Nick Lachey colored in the matching sun tattoo he got with his band that once read “98°”.
Nick Lachey filled in the center of his sun tattoo:
It used to show the name of his band, 98 Degrees, but they’ve since parted ways.
Lachey is still tight with ex-bandmate and brother Drew, though; the two cemented their brotherly love.
Still, he remains close with ex-bandmate and sibling Drew, and the two cemented their brotherly love with matching tribal armbands with an “L” in the center.
Nick Lachey has a phoenix tattoo on his upper back, a filled in sun on his right arm.
Which used to have a 98° logo in the center of the sun, a tribal armband with the letter L to match his younger brother.
Lachey filled in the center of his sun tattoo when 98º broke up.
Their broken engagement was as painfully documented as it was committed to her skin, but Kat Von D is finally ridding herself off her ill-advised tattoo of Jesse James’ face.
And there must be something genuinely cathartic about watching the West Coast Choppers’ boss, who she says cheated on her with 19 women, being zapped by a laser… if only on her arm.
She had vowed to keep the inking despite ending her engagement to Sandra Bullock’s former husband, insisting that it still meant something to her.
But thankfully Kat tweeted on Friday: ‘AND SO IT BEGINS! First round of tattoo removal well underway! :)’
Since splitting from Jesse, 43, in 2011 after discovering he was cheating on her just like he did to Bullock, 48, Kat has since dated and split from DJ Deadmau5.
Kat wrote on Twitter at the time: ‘Man, I sure was wrong.
‘But at least he made it a no-brainer to break that off. #lessonlearned. / Now, we can get all of the ‘I told you so’s’ outta the way … And move on.
She added: ‘Clarification: Deadmau5 and I are no longer together.’
Von D was so sure that she would be keeping the tattoo for eternity that she allowed herself to be filmed for her now cancelled show L.A. Ink, while having it done.
‘Years down the road when we’re all old and wrinkly we’ll be able to look at that tattoo and remember that time I surprised him,’ she gleefully told the camera.
Tellingly, in what is surely a foreshadowing of the days to come, James seemed taken aback by the gesture initially and utters ‘you’re crazy’ when his fiancee reveals the sketch on her left side.
The Austin-dwelling biker, who regained sole custody of his seven-year-old daughter Sunny by former girlfriend Janine Lindemulder last year, was seen awkwardly holding his Kat’s hand while her staff member Nikko Hurtado recreated the picture of him as a fifth grade child.
The father-of-three even took exception to the inclusion of a rainbow motif that featured on his childhood shirt, saying: ‘You could’ve left off the rainbow.’
He also squirmed as Von D and her team looked eagerly at him for a response and said: ‘I feel like I’m in court.’
Von D told him she had to include the rainbow as James emailed the picture to her with the title: ‘Rainbow dork,’ but he repeatedly called her ‘crazy.’
Kat admitted at the time: ‘He had a rough childhood, so to see what he’s become from there, it’s amazing. That’s why I wanted the picture of him as a child, to capture that certain innocence.’
Red Hot Chilli Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis sports a portrait of Chief Joseph on his left arm.
What the pro says: “It looks like the singer from Queensryche.” — Greg, Everlasting Tattoo.
The majority of Anthony’s tattoos are in black ink although the two inner arm ones are coloured; his tattoos are symmetrical in layout with balanced, but not completely identical, designs on either arm.
Many of the designs reflect aspects of his life most noticeably his North American heritage (on his maternal side).
Several of his tattoos were drawn by, Henky Penky (real name Henk Schiffmacher), a tattooist based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, who is famous for his work on rock n’ roll icons.
There are various online interpretations as to the origin of the design. The most common views are that it is of an Inca/Aztec falcon but some people claim it is a Haida thunder bird.
Hank Schiffmacher began work on the tattoo in February 1988 while the Peppers where in Amsterdam on tour; it was completed over a course of 18 months when Anthony happened to be in the city.
Kiedis is a fan of tribal styled tattoos that emphasize on Borneon designs. His forearms consist of tribal tattoos too but it incorporate some Celtic linework and patterns.
He has the faces of two famous native American tribal leaders Sitting Bull and Chief Joseph from the 19th century on his upper arms.
This may relate to his appreciation to people who fight with courage against oppressing odds and inspire those around them as Kiedis often battled with drug addiction.
Chief Joseph takes up residency on the arm of the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis. Most of the ink Kiedis sports was largely inspired by his Native American background from tribal designs to a large back piece.
After some down time, Red Hot Chili Peppers returned in 2011 with their latest release ‘I’m With You,’ and the band is headed to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April as part of the 2012 induction class, celebrating their contributions to the genre over the last 3 decades.
Many people get tattoos to imprint on themselves the memories , events and significant people that make an impact on their lives. Red hot chilli peppers front, Anthony Kiedis wears artistic tattoos on his back, arms.
Reality star Audrina Patridge was recently spotted with new ink, including Asian ideograms on her arm and this tattoo on her neck.
What the pro says: “It’s a strawberry heart with a silly puddy snake. Don’t like it.” — Mike, Everlasting Tattoo.
A tattoo today is a style statement. It has become the fashion to get yourself inked to mark a significant event in your life, to pay a tribute to someone or something that is important to you, to reflect traits of your personality that you most identify with or to showcase your beliefs.
Reality star Audrina Patridge’s tattoos join those echelons of expression as even her tattoos are discussed more than her work on blogs across the world.
Many fans are inspired by them and constantly trawl web pages to find a clear enough image of her tattoos so they can get themselves inked the same way.
Audrina gave us a view of the famous tattoo on her neck as she hosted Epic Saturdays at The Pool After Dark at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey on March 24.
When you first look at Audrina’s tattoo, it appears to be a snake wrapping itself around an apple.
A closer look reveals that the apple is actually a hybrid of the fruit and a heart with four chambers. This is a unique design which has garnered interest from both tattoo fans and tattoo artists around the world.
The tattoo employs vibrant colors that pop and the size is large enough to draw attention to it. It leaves a vivid image in your mind and you won’t be forgetting how it looks for awhile.
Perhaps that is why her neck tattoo is more popular than her other tattoos. Her sister has the same one. The positioning of the tattoo is quite smart as she can simply leave her hair down to hide it when it does not complement her outfit.
Like all art, tattoos too are open to interpretation. The same symbols and images will have varied meanings in different parts of the world. Sometimes, an image can have multiple meanings in the very same culture.
The apple and snake seem to be quite obvious references to the Bible’s Adam and Eve story with the apple standing for temptation and the snake a depiction of the serpent in the garden of Eden who lured Eve to take a bite of the apple which caused God to ban Adam and Eve from Paradise.
But the heart which is a part of the apple is a tougher nut to crack.
When talking about her tattoo, Audrina only touched up on the serpent, saying that in many ancient cultures the snake represented both Gods and demons. She did not elaborate further so we’re left to come to our own conclusions.
We think the apple and heart combined indicate desire, maybe for life or things or knowledge or all of these. The serpent – since she specified that it stood for both good and bad – may be symbolic of how we as human beings harbor both good and evil within ourselves.
Our desires and our conscience usually dictate our actions, which is why even seemingly good people make bad choices and why bad people often do surprisingly good things. Audrina’s tatoo seems to be an accurate, honest representation of humanity.
Glamour model Katie Price had a crown with “Princess” for her daughter and “Pete” for now ex-hubby Peter Andre inked on her wrist.
But she recently ducked into a tattoo parlor while shopping in Ibiza and had “Pete” visibly crossed out.
What the pro says: “The whole idea [of visibly crossing someone’s name out] is really terrible.” — Dave, OneShot Tattoo.
We’re all supposed to be looking at her new swimwear range, but she doesn’t make it easy that Katie Price, does she?
Posing in a brightly coloured pink and purple one-piece with gold chain effect print, which managed to make Katie’s surgically enhanced boobs look like a pair of beach balls, she also revealed her new garter tattoo.
With as much enthusiasm as her monotone drone could manage she said she was “really excited!” to show it off and loves it.
The 33 year old said: “I am obsessed with underwear, with stockings and suspenders, and so even when that is all taken off, I’ve still got something quite sexy on.”
The new ink is on her right thigh and currently looks like quite a delicate outline of a lacy suspender garter.
Katie was quick to add that it wasn’t finished, but wouldn’t reveal if she was going to have it coloured in pink (her favourite colour), saying we’d have to wait and see.
She’s known for her barely-there outfits that leave little to the imagination and has often been seen in something racy that includes saucy suspenders.
But being a busy girl, Katie Price clearly decided that her numerous outfit changes were taking up too much time so she decided make things a little easier.
And permanently too, as she posted a photo today of the back of her thigh showing off her brand new garter tattoo.
She first hinted at the tattoo when she launched her new swimwear range a month ago but it was just an outline at that stage.
But today, Katie, 33, took to her Twitter page to flaunt her new completed inking to her followers.
And a woman who is clearly proud of her perky derriere, she got a friend to take a snap of the tattoo on her thigh as she also flashed her pink and orange lacy knickers too.
