Exmoor Zoo, beautifully situated in 15 acres of the Devon countryside, is a memorable family experience. You are immersed in nature as you travel the winding paths between the enclosures. Some of the animals roam these paths freely and make for exhilarating encounters! A zoo trail functions as a guideline so you.
This facilitates kids’ exploration of the park. The zoo has amazing talks to offer:
in these talks the expert zookeepers give you information about the individual animal, but also about species’ natural habitat, diet and conservation status. For an additional fee, you can be a keeper for a day and tag along with a professional:
feeding cheetahs, lemurs and penguins, cleaning tortoises, scratching tapirs, you name it!
There is also a half-day Junior Keeper for the Day programme for kids aged 8-14. But even without this programme, you will be busy all day long, because there are over 160 species on display in Exmoor Zoo! Of course there are numerous possibilities to have something to eat:
there’s a large café and a snack shack, but on a sunny day you could bring your own food and lounge in the picnic area. For more information, visit the website of Exmoor Zoological Park.
