Just a few blocks from Newquay’s famous beaches is Newquay Zoo, a beautiful animal sanctuary in an urban environment. You’ll see some incredibly rare animals, which you won’t find anywhere else in Cornwall. Not only is there an impressive range of African animals (you’ll see the majestic African lion, zebra, wate.
Wildebeest, crowned cranes, helmeted guineafowl, meerkats, ostrich, royal pythons and several African lizards), there are also some beautiful rainforest animals from all over the world (including South American poison dart frogs, sloths, tamarins, marmosets, and capuchin monkeys).
Have a conversation with the macaws or check out the many species of lemur, and feed a ring-tailed lemur while you’re at it! There are feeding time talks on a daily basis. Upon entering the park, you are given a sheet with the feeding times for the day.
Watch the meerkats foraging for a meal or see the lions devour a carcass! For children, there’s a play area, where they can get their faces painted, and several activity trails to encourage exploration.
This and much more makes a visit a memorable experience for the whole family. Why not make that memory more tangible with a beautiful souvenir from the gift shop? For more information, visit the website of Newquay Zoo.
